Congratulations to the collector who has just today become the proud owner of the work called “La grosse madame” (The big lady) by artist Rémi Bergeron. The sculpture was only on exhibit for one week before being grabbed up and many other works by the same artist have attracted an enthusiastic clientele. Rémi Bergeron’s sculptures are generating quite a buzz.

Galerie ROCCIA presents the brand new work by artist Nathalie Trépanier, named Che or “Tché pas juste!!”. He’s a young outgoing rebellious protester! He’s somewhere on a picket line, voicing clear and loud his indignation. A warrior by nature, Che is an adolescent great owl that will tug at your heartstrings and will prompt you to campaign for a cause that is dear to you. Rémi Bergeron’s works surprise by the simplicity of their composition and the realism of their body language. To create the dancer, the artist has assembled cast iron bathtub legs and some chosen antique piping. The strength of the work lies in this surprising hotchpotch of crude objects into which he breathes the graceful femininity of a dancer preparing to go onstage.

Galerie ROCCIA welcomes a new artist: Rémi Bergeron. Through works made of recycled materials, the artist astutely explores movement and structure. Characters reveal themselves and move right before our eyes. His works’ compositions are surprisingly simple: a few carefully selected objects are enough to conjure up life, grace, turmoil…

The new collection of bronzes by André Desjardins arrived in Montreal this week. The collectors who bought a sculpture during the pre-cast event in September 2011 are very exited, and for good cause!
