On Wednesday, November 23rd, at 6 p.m., Galerie ROCCIA invites you to share a unique experience with artist Nathalie Trépanier. During this special evening, the artist will unveil two new sculptures; one of them called “Fe-fille” a magnificent life-sized bulldog guaranteed to make you smile. The work was created during the filming of a short feature directed by Hélène Bélanger-Martin on Nathalie’s creative process. It is slatted for release in 2012.
As an added attraction, Nathalie will create a new sculpture, live, before your eyes, from found and recycled objects. Come and witness the creative genius of this colourful artist. If you have knick-knacks you want to dispose of, old keys, telephones, a pencil sharpener lying at the bottom of a drawer, bring them along! Who knows, they might end up in Nathalie Trépanier’s next creation! Welcome to all!

On Saturday October 29th, artist José Dupuis will hold the second drawing workshop at galerie ROCCIA. Are you familiar with speed dating? Come and experience speed drawing: a direct modern-day drawing encounter with strangers.
Based on the popular principle of speed-dating, the workshop is a series of fast encounters through which participants get to observe and create the portrait of one another. The result can be revealing, troubling and, very often, hilarious!
During this open workshop, José Dupuis gives us the opportunity to play, laugh, and learn while also questioning ourselves: in the virtual world we live in, in this era of social Medias and social networks, what do we make of to real face-to-face encounters? What do we make of the way others look at us? Where does our identity lie?
An activity open to all: a free, interactive and playful experience in drawing you won’t want to miss, at galerie ROCCIA.
Saturday October 29th, 13:00 to 16:00 pm. Sign up at info@galerieroccia.com
Materials supplied by participants:
One sketchbook (lined, grid or blank paper) . Any size (minimum: 4″ x 5″, maximum: 14″ x 17″)
One pencil box (lead and coloured pencils, ballpoint pens, fine felt-tipped pens, eraser).
On Friday, March 11, Joann Côté and Nathalie Trépanier gave a live performance at galerie ROCCIA. They pooled their creativity for this fleeting and transient work, and crafted a magnificent dress. Nathalie fashioned the bustier and Joann designed the skirt from rubber, tulle, newspaper and empty beer cans. The result was simply breathtaking!
Don’t miss the opening exhibition of Joann Côté and Nathalie Trépanier on Thursday February 24th at 6 pm. Joann Côté will present her États d’âmes, a series of works celebrating womanhood, woman at her most colourful, mysterious, sensual and contemporary. Joann Côté will present Salvageables, sculptures created from salvaged materials. Equally impressive and amusing, these works are testimonials to her exceptional creativity. In addition, a sneak peek at Jonas Bouchard’s, alias The Lampiste, latest creations: magnificent lamps in unexpected and singular shapes and textures.
