I express myself primarily through wood. Being of a contemplative nature, I am extremely responsive of what surrounds me. Wood is a material that has always been part of my life. Its peacefulness, its strength, its steadiness; they inspire me on so many levels. The beauty of its grain, smells and textures drive me to create, to transform it, to magnify it to elevate the living space of people touched by contemporary art.
As an actor, I have learned over time, and still am, that less is often more when wanting to share the words, the message. In my view, conveying an emotion in its simplest and most sincere manifestation is the best way to touch people’s hearts. On stage, a sense of balance, focus and instinct are paramount to grasp the soul of a character and carry an emotionally charged performance. As a self-taught sculptor, I constantly revisit these theatrical concepts to create my works and give free rein to my imagination.
